Hey hey, in OOC I also go by Rae! Thanks for checking out my 'About the Player' page! So... A little bit about me. To start, I've been playing FF14 since 2020. I started by recommendation of a friend of mine after having a fairly rough experience in WoW. I was intending to remain a free to play character, however when I saw that viera was content locked I just had to buy the game. Raeven Merlot is my first, and remains my main character in this game to this day.When I'm in-game, you can usually find me at clubs hanging with friends, or in my FC/Personal plot spending time crafting, or I'll be out and about gathering. I love being helpful where I can, and I like to think I'm pretty easy-going when it comes to interactions with me. Come spend some time, I won't bite! :)

❀ Plot Hooks

Rak'Tika - Though she chose to leave her home of the Rak'Tika Greatwoods, she will never turn away a stranger who also choose to make the decision to leave that place. She loves to talk about her family back home, her escape, and tales she heard when she was growing up.

Bartending - Raeven has been bartending since the early days she left her home and family behind in the Rak'Tika Greatwoods, picking it up as a full time job after she had her twins Isi & Luh to help afford them while being a single mother. Tell her about your favourite drink!

AAC Arena - As a side job and a hobby, Raeven can often be found in the AAC Arena under her fighter name "Midnight Raven". Though it was a cause of a mild addiction to electrope, she loves discussing fellow competitors.

Casting - After arriving in Ul'dah, Raeven took up training in the thaumaturgy guild that sparked her passion for casting, that she uses in every day tasks all the time. Whether its sparking a flame on the tip of her finger, or freezing berries to blend them in a drink, she does it all.

✎𓂃 Backstory

Raeven Merlot (Né Raeven Rak'Tika) was a Veena Viera born in high society amongst a strong matriarchal family in the Rak'Tikan Greatwoods that had run several generations long throughout its heritage. Named (with knowledge to date) the 7th generation matron of her family on her cultures true naming day, the title was striped from her very name when she decided to abandon her families generational law to remain close to her eldest brother. She disagreed in the law that forced males from their home when they became of age, taking the last name "Merlot" with Cardinal, and abandoning her village.

With no family left other than her brother who moved far away, and no where to go, she embarked on an other-worldly journey to a place other abandoners whispered about in the streets called "Ul'Dah". She did as much labor as she was capable for nearby Elezen, and Hyur villages before heading to the Crystarium to travel to these strange new lands. The travel took what felt a millenia, but when she finally arrived excitement filled her very being. Many a strange small creature seemed to populate the area, and the locals called them "Lalafell". The irony of moving from a land of giants was not lost on her, and certainly gave her a chuckle as she signed in at her temporary residence hosted by the Adventurer's Guild.
